Welcome to The Home of the Disciples
R. J. Hendley Christian Community School

R. J. Hendley Christian Community School was founded by the late R. J. Hendley, Jr. and the Greater Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Many members of the congregation (retired teachers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, members, college students and community volunteers) got busy assisting and our pastor’s vision became a fruition. We opened with 17 students and 4 staff members in August, 1982.

The school was housed at the Greater Bethel Church for a year and later moved to the remodeled Cotton Club on 28th Street in Riviera Beach. The school continued to grow and through efforts of the church, donations from near and far, a new 17 classroom building was completed.

The school grew from preschool to high school. Students participated in basket ball, school chorus, cheerleading, computer technology and utilized the A-Beka Curriculum.

Due to the economy we thought our doors were going to close this year. Through the generous donation of a concerned citizen and fund raisers our aim is to keep the doors open.
